Tether has backed Pact Labs in a $7 million Series A round to expand USA₮ (CRYPTO: $USDT) across payroll, earned wage access, credit and payments in the United States.

Blockchange Ventures and Lasagna also joined the financing. Pact Labs will use the capital to build the wallet, data, payment and smart contract infrastructure connecting the PACT protocol with fintech platforms and their users.

USA₮ is a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Anchorage Digital Bank and developed in collaboration with Tether for the American market. The Pact integration is designed to place the token inside payroll and consumer finance products rather than limiting its use to trading, transfers or institutional settlement.

Pact is targeting a U.S. payroll system it values at $10 trillion. Its infrastructure allows fintech companies to connect with stablecoin rails without replacing their existing back ends, supporting 24-hour settlement, automated reconciliation and liquidity routing across payroll, lending and earned wage access.

The company said its software development kits have already deployed hundreds of thousands of embedded wallets and live stablecoin payroll flows across enterprise platforms. Pact Labs integrations have also facilitated more than $1.9 billion in credit across emerging markets and now support onchain payroll infrastructure through partnerships with Payactiv and USA₮.

Bo Hines, CEO of Tether USA₮, said the partnership gives the stablecoin a route into the hands of American workers with fewer intermediaries slowing down settlement.

The investment extends Tether's expansion beyond issuing stablecoins and into the infrastructure where digital dollars are distributed and used. The company has increasingly backed businesses tied to payments, tokenization and regulated financial rails, including a recent $20 million investment in Latin American crypto platform Mercado Bitcoin.

Pact now gives Tether a direct opening into recurring payroll flows, where stablecoin adoption could become part of how workers receive and access wages rather than another payment option sitting outside the financial products they already use.
