Paradigm Raises $1.2B as Crypto VC Expands Into AI and Robotics
Paradigm Raises $1.2B as Crypto VC Expands Into AI and Robotics.
Paradigm has raised $1.2 billion for a new venture fund, giving one of crypto's most prominent investment firms fresh capital as it expands into artificial intelligence, robotics and other frontier technologies.
The fund marks a wider mandate for the San Francisco-based firm, which built its reputation backing crypto companies and protocols. Paradigm will continue investing in digital assets, but the latest pool will also target opportunities outside the sector as AI and robotics draw a larger share of venture capital.
Paradigm now describes itself as a frontier technology investment firm that builds and invests across crypto, AI and robotics from the earliest stages. The shift formalizes a broader strategy that had already begun taking shape earlier this year, when the firm was reportedly seeking as much as $1.5 billion for a fund with exposure to emerging technology beyond blockchain.

The final $1.2 billion raise is larger than Paradigm's previous $850 million fund announced in 2024. That vehicle was focused on early-stage crypto projects, with co-founder Matt Huang arguing at the time that the sector was entering another important period for new protocols and companies.
The new fund arrives with Paradigm managing roughly $11.9 billion in assets in 2025. Its crypto portfolio has included Uniswap (CRYPTO: $UNI), Kalshi and other infrastructure and financial technology companies, while the firm has also been building closer to the intersection of payments and frontier technology.
Paradigm's expansion does not necessarily separate AI from crypto. Autonomous payments, programmable financial rails and machine-led commerce are creating areas where both technologies increasingly overlap, giving a technically focused crypto investor a familiar entry point into a much larger market.
Crypto venture firms have spent years building specialist teams around software, cryptography and open financial systems. Paradigm is now betting that the same model can travel further.
The $1.2 billion fund gives it the capital to test that thesis beyond crypto without stepping away from the sector that built the firm.
