Howden has agreed to acquire Thomond Asset Management, a financial advisory business based in Ireland.

Founded by Tom Fitzgerald, Neal Kelly and David O'Neill, Thomond advises individuals and business owners on financial planning, pensions before and after retirement, investments and estate planning.

Its team of nine will join Howden as part of the deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Howden said the acquisition marks another step in the "ongoing expansion" of its financial advisory business in Ireland.

The company expects the transaction to strengthen its existing client offering and add further scale and technical expertise.

Howden Financial Advisory managing director Dermot Gaskin said: "Thomond Asset Management has built a strong wealth management business in Limerick City, with values that closely align to our own. Thomond's focus on long-term client relationships, built on trust and openness, mirrors our commitment to putting clients at the centre of everything we do.

"This acquisition will offer their clients an even wider range of services, while ensuring they continue to access expert advice close to where they are based. I am delighted to welcome Tom, Neal, David and the wider team to Howden."

The deal follows Howden's earlier additions of Maven Financial Planning in April 2026 and Opes Wealth Trust in May 2026.

Howden's financial advisory team was launched last year and is led by Dermot Gaskin. It now comprises more than 80 professionals supporting the financial planning and advisory needs of clients across Ireland.

Thomond Asset Management is the trading name of Folk Asset Management. The acquisition remains subject to approval from the Central Bank of Ireland.

Thomond Asset Management's co-founders said: "We are excited to join Howden as its first financial advisory acquisition in Limerick City. This partnership means our clients will benefit from greater resources and broader expertise but with the same personal service they value today."
