Quito, Ecuador — President Daniel Noboa has been officially reelected following last Sunday’s general election, securing victory in 19 out of Ecuador’s 24 provinces, according to final results presented by the National Electoral Council (CNE) during a national vote-audit session held Saturday.

The CNE confirmed that the candidate from the National Democratic Action (ADN) party won key provinces such as Guayas (52.29%), Pichincha (62.11%), and Azuay (62.71%). Notably, Noboa achieved overwhelming majorities in Tungurahua (78.55%) and Pastaza (75.40%), leaving no doubts about the depth of his support.

His rival, Luisa González of the Citizen Revolution Movement—linked to former President Rafael Correa—prevailed in five provinces, including Manabí (63.45%) and Santa Elena (53.46%), the latter being Noboa’s home province.

With 100% of the vote counted, Noboa obtained 55.63% of the national vote, while González garnered 44.37%. Despite the clear margin and international endorsements from the European Union (EU) and the Organization of American States (OAS), González has yet to concede, alleging “irregularities” in the process.

She claims that the CNE uploaded multiple altered versions of vote tallies and cited discrepancies such as unsigned reports and inconsistencies in voter counts. While she announced plans to challenge the outcome legally, no formal objections were raised by any of the five CNE officials during Saturday’s public scrutiny session.

CNE President Diana Atamaint officially closed the session, pending the arrival of a final tally sheet from Paris, France, which will complete the count from Ecuadorians living abroad—paving the way for the formal proclamation of Noboa’s reelection.
